- A few small, clean rocks from your yard
Clean Howling Wolf and Saguaro Cactus with hot soapy water to remove protective oils. Dry with paper towel.
Using a craft brush apply a thin primer coat of Americana Multi-Purpose Sealer to front and back of Howling Wolf and Saguaro Cactus. Allow to dry.
Apply a light coat of Americana Espresso Acrylic Paint to the front of the Howling Wolf. While the paint is still wet, use a paper towel to wipe the Espresso off from the raised surface allowing the paint to remain in the recessed areas for an antiquing effect. Allow to dry.
Color the eye and the nose of the Howling Wolf with the Black Le Plume marker.
Apply a coat of Americana Espresso Acrylic Paint to the front of the Saguaro Cactus. While the paint is still wet, use a paper towel to wipe the Espresso off from the raised surface allowing the paint to remain in the recessed areas for an antiquing effect. Allow to dry.
For the flowers, color with Grape Le Plume and Crimson Lake Le Plume markers using a dabbing motion to create a mottled effect.
For the foliage, color with Mustard Le Plume marker using a dabbing motion to create a mottled effect.
For the stems of the flowers and foliage, color with Apple Green Le Plume and Green Forest Le Plume markers using the dabbing motion to create a mottled effect.
Set aside the completed Howling Wolf and Saguaro Cactus.
Remove the back board of the shadow box. Set aside.
Print the Full Moon photograph onto 8.5"x11" photo paper or other heavy weight paper using a colored printer.
Use the paper trimmer to trim the Full Moon photograph to 8"x10" (landscape orientation) to fit onto the inside of the shadow box back board.
Apply a small bead of Power-Tac™ Contact Adhesive by Beacon® to the small rocks to support the Howling Wolf and Saguaro Cactus. Do not attach the Howling Wolf or Saguaro Cactus to the shadow box at this time. Allow to dry.
Position the Howling Wolf and the Saguaro Cactus inside the shadow box usint the Full Moon photo as a guide for placement. Arrange additional small rocks for aesthetics.
Once you have the rocks, Howling Wolf, and Saguaro Cactus in place, apply a small bead of Power-Tac™ Contact Adhesive to the bottom of the rocks and place them inside the shadow box. Allow to dry.
Finish by attaching the shadow box back board with Full Moon photo to the back of the shadow box. Make sure the Full Moon photo is on the inside of the shadow box.
